Cirque du Soleil is urgently seeking male and female contemporary dancers for a new production in Macau.

Requirements:
* Dancers from any and all contemporary dance backgrounds;
* Forsythe/Kylian-style movement qualities, an asset;
* 18 years and up.

Submission instructions:

Send us your complete file, including:
1. Your resumé, including complete contact information, languages spoken and written, nationality, date of birth, weight, height, as well as special abilities;
2. One or more photographs;
3. One or more excerpts of the following elements filmed in studio and/or on stage in the past year (for a total of 5 to 15 minutes of video images):
a) One-minute presentation to the camera, including your name, nationality, experience, and the reasons for your interest in Cirque du Soleil;
b) Contemporary dance choreography demonstrating your technical and artistic skills;
c) A contemporary improvisation;
d) If applicable, other style(s) of dance and relevant abilities (examples: folk dance, gumboot, gymnastics, singing, circus arts, etc.).

Cambridge Centre for the Arts:Open Call for Dancers
Looking for feature dancers for a large outdoor performance piece entitled 'Elements'. This dance project is a Cambridge Centre for the Arts artist in residence initiative directed by Michele Hopkins.
Must have strong dance background (ballet / modern / contemporary dance preferred) as well as performance experience
Rehearsals will take place on Sunday afternoons in the Toyota Auditorium, Cambridge Centre for the Arts, 45 Thorne St., Cambridge, ON beginning in April.
Performance dates are June 15, 16 (rain dates June 22, 23), a post performance gala will be held on the Sunday following performances in the Toyota Auditorium, Cambridge Centre for the Arts.

DECIDEDLY JAZZ DANCEWORKS: AUDITION NOTICE
WHAT: Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (DJD) is seeking male and female dancers for the DJD Company as well as its Pre-Professional Program. Dancers auditioning for Company Positions must be at least 20 years of age, have a passion for jazz dance and jazz music, plus strong technique and great personal groove. DJD consists of 8-12 dancers on a forty –week (average) contract with a starting wage of $500 CDN/week for apprentice positions. Health benefits, chiropractic, physiotherapy, and health/yoga club memberships provided. The 23 year-old Company is dedicated to exploring, evolving and promoting the art of jazz dance, works with live jazz music and tours nationally. Dancers interested in the Pre-Professional Program must be at least 18 years of age, and interested in furthering their knowledge of jazz dance and the work of DJD. Pre-Professional Program members receive classes at the School of Decidedly Jazz, performance/choreographic opportunities, and personalized feedback.

Call for Submissions:Dance Ontario’s Creative Partnerships Program

The Program will provide $2,000 in production/creation support to each of two choreographers for NEW work to be premiered at Premiere Dance Theatre during DanceWeekend in January 2008 with the possibility of an additional presentation later in the year.

Recipients to date include Nenagh Leigh, Meagan O’Shea, Terrill Maguire, Lucy Rupert, Vivine Scarlett, Jenn Goodwin, Sasha Ivanochko, Marlee Cargill, Nova Bhattacharya and Louis Laberge Cote, Sashar Zarif (who received the Paula Citron Award for Best Choreography at TIDF in 2006 for the work), Lacey Smith and William Yong.

Choreographers whose membership is current at the time of submission are eligible to apply. All forms of dance will be considered and two works each approx 15 minutes in length, will be selected for presentation.

Dance Ontario’s Selection Committee looks for applications that:
- demonstrate excellence and professional integrity;
- Bridge diverse forms and/or disciplines;
- Take creative risks;
- Connect with and are relevant to a broad-based audience;
- Enhance the artist’s repertoire.
